The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is set to formally unveil Vice President Kashim Shettima as President Bola Tinubu’s running mate for the 2027 presidential election.
The announcement is expected during a meeting of the party’s leadership currently taking place at the Continental Hotel in Abuja.
The development follows months of speculation that President Tinubu could replace Shettima with a northern Christian ahead of the 2027 election.
Senior APC leaders at the venue confirmed to our correspondent that Tinubu has re-nominated Shettima as his running mate and that the party will make the decision official today.
