The Ambassador of the Nigerian Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ireland Chapter, Jeffrey Oronsaye, has urged Nigerian youths in the diaspora to embrace unity, collaboration and active community engagement as key drivers of personal and collective development.
Oronsaye gave the charge during a visit to Galway, where he met with members of the Nigerian community at a youth hangout organised to strengthen relationships and encourage greater participation among young Nigerians living in Ireland.
The event was anchored by NYCN Youthlift Galway Secretary, Osasu Edosomwan.
Addressing participants, the ambassador stressed the need for young Nigerians to remain connected, support initiatives that promote community development and uphold the values of peace, mutual respect and service while representing Nigeria abroad.
He said stronger bonds among Nigerian youths would create opportunities for leadership, mentorship and meaningful contributions to both their host communities and their homeland.
The gathering also provided a forum for participants to network, exchange ideas and discuss issues affecting Nigerians in Ireland.
Many described the initiative as timely, saying it had helped deepen friendships and broaden their professional and social networks.
The Galway engagement forms part of the NYCN Ireland Chapter’s ongoing efforts to promote youth inclusion, strengthen community participation and provide platforms that inspire leadership and collective progress among Nigerians across Ireland.
The visit ended with participants reaffirming their commitment to sustaining the relationships forged at the event and working together to advance the welfare and interests of Nigerian youths in Ireland.
