Gunmen have kidnapped the younger sister of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, along with her twin children in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The incident reportedly happened on Wednesday morning in the Challenge area of Ibadan South-West Local Government Area.
According to information gathered, the victims were leaving their residence in the Elewura area and heading toward the expressway when armed men attacked them and took them away.
A media aide to Adelabu, Femi Awogboro, confirmed the development to Punch, stating that the former minister’s younger sister and her twins, identified as Peter and Paul, were seized by the attackers during the operation.
The abduction has added to growing concerns over insecurity in Oyo State, where several kidnapping cases have been recorded in recent months.
In May 2026, more than 40 teachers and students were abducted during an attack on Ahoro-Esiele in Oriire Local Government Area of the state. The incident drew widespread concern as families and residents demanded stronger security measures.
