Bendel Insurance Football Club midfield young star Dominion Osaghae and three other young footballers from Edo State have been included in Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets(U-17) squad for the 2026 China International Youth Football Tournament.
Dominion Osaghae of Bendel Insurance and Emmanuel Obasohan of Namo Football Academy headline the Edo contingent, just as Osifo Believe and Samuel Idor of Delight FC also made the team.
Osaghae Dominion who recently graduated from the Benin arsenas youth team and the other three players are among the 20-man squad selected by Head Coach Uwejamomere Eboboritse for the trip to China.
The Golden Eaglets are expected to depart Nigeria on Thursday night for the tournament, which will be held in Yinchuan from July 5 to 11. Hosts China, Australia and Tanzania are the other teams taking part in the four-nation competition.
According to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), the tournament is part of the team’s preparations for the 2026 WAFU B U-17 Championship in September, which will serve as the qualifying tournament for next year’s Africa U-17 Cup of Nations.
